Steward's Report
Lap To Far was quick to begin. Top Model and Big City Nights were slow to begin.
Majestic Stella underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being severely checked on the second turn and then subsequently pulled up in the back straight. The greyhound was re-examined after the running of Race 5 and found to have injuries to the right-fore monkey muscle and left-hind toe. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Big Bertha underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to racing manners when rounding the home turn, which revealed minor abrasions to the right-fore paw pad and the nose/muzzle - no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs. Kelly Bravo regarding the greyhound’s racing manners when rounding the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Big Bertha was charged with marring. Mrs. Bravo pleaded guilty to the charge, and Big Bertha was suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127(a) and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
