Zippy Yamaha, Hazelnut and I'm Indigo were quick to begin.
Trending Striker was slow to begin.
Brave Lad was very slow to begin, 4 lengths and took no competitive part in the event.
Hazelnut and Zippy Yamaha collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Go Gigi Go and Aston Samba collided on the first turn. Trending Striker and Hazelnut collided approaching the home turn. Go Gigi Go checked off Dynamic Prince entering the home straight. Aston Samba crossed to the rail in the home straight and checked off Hazelnut.
Brave Lad underwent a post-race veterinary examination- no apparent injury was reported. Mr D Weightman declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Daryl Weightman, the trainer of Brave Lad regarding its performance soon after the start. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Brave Lad must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
