Steward's Report
Bearing Gold – Late scratching at 2.49pm when trainer, Mr Christoper Watson reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr Peter Martinovic failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Drakensberg Dot for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46 (2).
Chilly Bin was slow to begin. Bon Yogi crossed to the rails on the first turn causing Drakensberg Dot to gallop on Bon Yogi, checking both greyhounds. Beers On Brody was checked off Drakensberg Dot on the first turn causing Beers On Brody, Chilly Bin and Extreme Harriet to collide checking Beers On Brody and Extreme Harriet. Cha Cha Again and Chilly Bin collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Bon Yogi and Extreme Harriet collided in the home straight checking Bon Yogi. Bon Yogi and Beers On Brody collided approaching the winning post.
Bon Yogi underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.
