Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) Steward, Ms Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Raichu was slow to begin.
Wild One Mikado, Raichu, Kinlock Blazer, Garth Vader, Big Bird Rose and Major Currency collided soon after the start checking Raichu. Western Blazer crossed out at the 250m mark checking Wild One Mikado. Major Currency turned its head inward and visibly eased at the 250m mark. Major Currency and Western Blazer collided at the 200m mark. Wild One Mikado and Garth Vader collided at the 200m mark checking both greyhounds. Kinlock Blazer checked off Garth Vader at the 200m mark.
Major Currency underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Brian Hodgson, the trainer of Major Currency regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 250m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Major Currency was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hodgson pleaded guilty to the charge, Major Currency was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
