Steward's Report
Nana Judy – Late scratching at 11.42am when Trainer Mrs Elizabeth Lloyd reported the greyhound to have a laceration (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Tillotson.
Only Dream was quick to begin. Ronnie Armo was slow to begin.
Tillotson visibly eased on the first turn. Ronnie Armo and Call Me Buddy collided approaching the home turn. Press On and Only Dream collided approaching the home turn checking Only Dream. Tillotson visibly eased on the home turn. Tillotson and Winlock At Large collided on the home turn and again in the home straight checking Winlock At Large.
Winlock At Large underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Tillotson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr Craig Elliot declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Elliot regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn and on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Tillotson was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Elliot pleaded guilty to the charge, Tillotson was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and GAR 72 , before any future nomination will be accepted.
