Steward's Report
The remainder of the meeting was delayed to allow medical treatment of a catcher due to an incident in the catching pen following race two. All races were amended to the following times: Race 3 - 6:38, Race 4 - 6:54, Race 5 - 7:19, Race 6 - 7:40, Race 7 - 8:03, Race 8 - 8:25; Race 9 - 8:49, Race 10 - 9:04, Race 11 - 9:20 and Race 12 - 9:38.
The start was delayed by approximately two minutes to hold for a Japanese thoroughbred race.
Violet Rose was quick to begin. Big Blazer was slow to begin.
Miss Roxy and Violet Rose collided on the first turn; checking Violet Rose, Moraine Lucy, Millie Millions and Cheery Ola Baby. Bingo Ringo and Miss Roxy collided approaching the home turn; checking Bingo Ringo.
Miss Roxy underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Sailor's Girl - the winner of the event.
