Steward's Report
Havilah Kid was quick to begin. Birdbrook was slow to begin.
Trout and Code Blue Sue collided approaching the first turn. Avenger Lass and Havilah Kid collided approaching the first turn checking Avenger Lass and Code Blue Sue. Avenger Lass, Code Blue Sue and Havilah Kid collided on the first turn severely checking Avenger Lass. Birdbrook checked off Code Blue Sue approaching the home turn. Birdbrook and Trout collided approaching the home turn checking Havilah Kid and Runnin' Riot. Avenger Lass and Birdbrook collided entering the home straight.
Avenger Lass underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 9. Avenger Lass was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Borg, the trainer of Avenger Lass and advised him pursuant to GAR 20 (3) (v) prior to any further nomination being accepted, a Veterinary Certificate must be produced to the satisfaction of the Stewards, stating that at the time of nomination, the greyhound is fit to start.
A post-race sample was taken from Havilah Kid - the winner of the event.
