Worms Are Biting was slow to begin.
United Lass, Ed Deeds and Mario Bale collided soon after the start. Aristocrat, United Lass, Ed Deeds and Mario Bale collided approaching the first turn. Worms Are Biting, Key Effort, Aristocrat and Mario Bale collided on the first turn, checking Aristocrat. Aristocrat faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Key Effort checked off Benefit Summary on the home turn.
Aristocrat underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track approaching the home turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
