Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Branson Bale.
Airly Liberty, Big Bash Jess and All For Now were quick to begin. Collinda Dodge and Coco's Hot collided approaching the first turn. Airly Liberty checked off All For Now approaching the first turn. Airly Liberty and Zardora collided on the first turn. Tempting Fate and Airly Liberty collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds causing both greyhounds to lose considerable ground. Branson Bale turned it's head in approaching the winning post.
Following the event Tempting Fate displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermetria. A 3 day stand down penalty was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Reinke, the representative of Tempting Fate and advised him that the greyhound would be closely monitored in future events.
Collinda Dodge underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Airly Liberty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Branson Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the representative, Mr. Dallan Klemke regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Branson Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Branson Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
