Steward's Report
Tinker Matt was quick to begin. Eighties Devil and Darley Lass were slow to begin.
Tinker Matt raced wide approaching the first turn. Alfie Rocks and Crackerjack Dane collided approaching the first turn. Miss Molly May turned its head outwards and collided with Ms. Lucky Leaves on the first turn checking Ms. Lucky Leaves, Honest Thief, Alfie Rocks and Crackerjack Dane. Eighties Devil turned its head outwards on the first turn checking Darley Lass, Ms. Lucky Leaves, Honest Thief and Alfie Rocks. Eighties Devil and Honest Thief collided entering the home straight checking Honest Thief and Ms. Lucky Leaves. Eighties Devil and Crackerjack Dane collided several times in the home straight checking Crackerjack Dane. Alfie Rocks checked off Eighties Devil approaching the winning post.
Eighties Devil underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8, no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Tabb, the representative of Eighties Devil regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Eighties Devil was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Tabb pleaded guilty to the charge, Eighties Devil was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
