Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face-masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Francisco.
Viking Junior was quick to begin. Northern Era was slow to begin.
Viking Junior and Osprey Phantom collided soon after the start. Osprey Phantom, Rufiano and Bernadette collided soon after the start. Northern Era and Dr. Francisco collided on the first turn. Osprey Phantom and Rufiano collided on the first turn. Viking Junior and Bernadette collided approaching the second turn checking Bernadette. Got Him Yes, Rufiano and Northern Era collided on the second turn checking Rufiano and Northern Era. Rufiano and Bernadette collided on the third turn. Dr. Francisco and Northern Era collided entering the home straight. Bernadette and Northern Era collided in the home straight. Rufiano marred Got Him Yes in the home straight.
Rufiano underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Rodney Ashworth regarding the greyhound’s racing manner in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Rufiano was charged with marring. Mr Ashworth pleaded guilty to the charge, Rufiano was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
