Steward's Report
Shima Shine began awkwardly. Lakeview Walter and Equalizer were slow to begin.
Shima Shine and Equalizer collided in the front straight checking Equalizer. Fire Legend and Lakeview Walter collided approaching the first turn. Catch The Thief, Fernando Bluey and Tiggerlong Tonk collided on the first turn checking Fernando Bluey. Fire Legend, Lakeview Walter and Fernando Bluey collided approaching the second turn checking Lakeview Walter. Fire Legend checked off Fernando Bluey on the second turn. Equalizer and Fire Legend collided on the third turn checking Fire Legend. Fernando Bluey tired over the concluding stages.
Fernando Bluey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left calf and hamstring. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms K. Cottrell regarding the performance of the greyhound in this event. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), Stewards requested Ms Cottrell to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Fernando Bluey in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Post-race blood and urine samples were taken from Tiggerlong Tonk (1st). Post-race urine samples were taken from Catch The Thief (2nd) and Carry On Angel (3rd).
Supplementary Report: On Friday 21 May 2021, Trainer Ms K. Cottrel advised Stewards that Fernando Bluey has pulled up with lameness in the off side hind, around the hock ligament.
