All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds. 

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.2 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 17.8 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

On The Beers was quick to begin.

Jimmy Maker and Heaven's Tower collided approaching the first turn checking Heaven's Tower.  On The Beers and Whakahoro collided on the first turn checking On The Beers.  Jimmy Maker and On The Beers collided approaching the home turn checking Jimmy Maker and severely checking On The Beers.  Heaven's Tower raced wide entering the home straight. 

Magical Max - Late scratching at 15.04pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer. G Doyle was fined $100.

Oh Stop It was slow to begin.

Hurricane Star and Ready To Slide collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Oh Stop It and Hello Lovely collided approaching the home turn.  

A post-race sample was taken from Elswyk Sophie - winner of the event. 

It was noted that the muzzle of Oh Stop It became dislodged in the boxes and for the duration of the event.

Sarah Beauty and Hurricane Sue were quick to begin.

Hurricane Miss and Hurricane Sue collided soon after the start checking Hurricane Miss.  Pandora's Blue, Sarah Beauty and Hurricane Sue collided on the first turn.  Sarah Beauty and Hurricane Miss collided approaching the home turn checking Hurricane Miss and severely checking Sarah Beauty.  Taciana and Phaenon Bale collided on the home turn and several times in the home straight. 

Captain Turbot and Mt. View Jester were very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Cool Stone, Aston Sunset, Hurricane Miami and Blue Cascade collided on the first turn checking Aston Sunset and severely checking Hurricane Miami.  Captain Turbot, Cool Stone and Blue Cascade collided approaching the home turn checking Cool Stone, Blue Cascade and severely checking Captain Turbot.  Captain Turbot and Mt. View Jester collided entering the home straight.  

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Mt. View Jester, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lamotta.

Hurricane Pete and Architecture were quick to begin.

Banjo Plato and Architecture collided on the first turn.  Hurricane Pete raced wide entering the home straight. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Cabernet.

Coughlin's Law and Manila Shine were slow to begin.

What Price Bucks, Coughlin's Law and Manila Shine collided on the first turn checking Coughlin's Law.  Shifty and Aston Rum collided on the home turn checking Shifty.  

A post-race sample was taken from Manila Shine - winner of the event. 

Dyna Virion and Pilot Pete collided soon after the start checking Dyna Virion.

Dyna Virion underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right carpal sprain and a right tarsal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Samp De Keats - Late scratching as 8.38am when Mr J Boreland reported the greyhound to have a laceration (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Frost Us.

Calabrese Gino and Frost Us collided on the first turn checking Frost Us.  Frost Us and Splinter collided on the home turn.  

A post-race sample was taken from Prime Time - winner of the event. 

A sample was taken form Flirty Talks at the trainer's kennel earlier today.

Elswyk Storm, Zereva, Avery and Miss Malfunction collided on the first turn checking Zereva, Avery and severely checking Elswyk Storm which fell as a result.  Aston Rebel and Miss Malfunction collided approaching the winning post.

Elswky Storm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right chest muscle injury and a spike wound to the right hind leg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Elswyk Suzie was quick to begin.

Yussuf Bale, Henryk Bale and Cooped Up collided soon after the start.  Black Power, Taking Notes and Elswyk Suzie collided on the first turn. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Addy's Evie.

Cute Patootie was quick to ebgin.

Cute Patootie and Addy's Evie collided on the first turn checking Cute patootie.  Love A Collision raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
