Steward's Report
All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.2 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 17.8 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
On The Beers was quick to begin.
Jimmy Maker and Heaven's Tower collided approaching the first turn checking Heaven's Tower. On The Beers and Whakahoro collided on the first turn checking On The Beers. Jimmy Maker and On The Beers collided approaching the home turn checking Jimmy Maker and severely checking On The Beers. Heaven's Tower raced wide entering the home straight.
