Maddingley Magic was quick to begin. Just Admit It was slow to begin.
Gleaming and Mr. Bent Lee collided soon after the start. Crystal Rocks and Go Kaney Go collided approaching the first turn, checking Go Kaney Go. Alira Gem checked off Just Admit It approaching the first turn. Just Admit It checked off Go Kaney Go approaching the first turn. Alira Gem faltered on the first turn and lost ground.
Alira Gem underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
