All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 16.5 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Red Nangana galloped on All Inn Toffee soon after the start causing All Inn Toffee to lose ground and Red Nangana to collide with Ready To Slide. Carnivore and Legend Jet collided on the home turn.

Sherwood Bale - Late scratching at 7:04pm on 24/01/2021 when trainer, Mr Glen Burns reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Riverhawk checked off Blue Cascade on the first turn. Riverhawk galloped on Blue Cascade on the home turn causing Blue Cascade to lose ground. 

Blue Cascade underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Flash Paws was slow to begin.

Wired and Main Force collided soon after the start. What Price Bucks and Sweet About Lily collided entering the home straight,

Flash Paws underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Flying Foxy was quick to begin. Swedish Duchess was slow to begin.

Long Black Lass checked off Midget Rocks on the home turn. Swedish Duchess checked off Midget Rocks on the home turn causing Swedish Duchess to cross out and collide with Long Black Lass. Swedish Duchess and Long Black Lass collided in the home straight.

Larkhill West, Cee Me Snoop and American Spy collided approaching the first turn severely checking Cee Me Snoop. American Spy and Madalia Mick collided on the first turn.

Old Sale Road was quick to begin.

Old Sale Road, Morosis and Captain Turbot collided approaching the first turn causing Captain Turbot to contact the running rail and Old Sale Road to lose ground. All Inn Freeman and Elswyk Suzie collided on the first turn. Captain Turbot checked off Honey Edition entering the home straight. 

Captain Turbot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Thursday Thunder - New declared weight of 32.4kg, last raced at 33.8kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Fraiche. 

Wishly Bale, Thursday Thunder and Stanley Boy collided soon after the start. Fawn Missile and Aston Balade collided approaching the first turn causing Fawn Missile to lose ground. Thursday Thunder raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Crazy Old Fool. 

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Crazy Old Fool and Kinloch Journey with Mr Jason Formosa and noted their comments.

Kinloch Journey was quick to begin. Go Emmy Go was slow to begin.

What Price Mason and Sweet Antares collided soon after the start. What Price Mason and Demolition collided several times approaching the winning post.

Crazy Old Fool underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Tigga Toy and Parabellum were quick to begin.
