Steward's Report
All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Loves the Surf – In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Ballarat on 06/01/21. Loves The Surf was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Loves The Surf was cleared to race. A sample was taken for analysis.
Inter Vince - New declared weight of 35.6kg, last raced at 34.1kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Black Avenger.
Black Avenger and Assassinate were quick to begin. Sister Annie and Buster's Choice were slow to begin.
Buster's Choice, Fabriola Acai and Retro Rocket collided approaching the first turn checking Fabriola Acai and Retro Rocket. Inter Vince and Buster's Choice collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Buster's Choice and King Brown collided approaching the winning post.
Buster's Choice underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. McKenzie regarding the racing manners of Buster's Choice in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. McKenzie, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
