A pre-race sample was taken from Batman's Dreams.
Nova To Burn and Batman's Dreams collided approaching the first turn checking Nova To Burn. Kalkari checked off Follow The Que on the first turn. Grace Cabang and Follow The Que collided on the first turn. Hold The Line and Kalkari collided on the first turn. Nova To Burn turned it's head outwards and marred Veracruz approaching the winning post.
Nova To Burn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Kurt Burger-Trudgett, the representative of Nova To Burn regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Nova To Burn was charged with marring. Mr. Burger-Trudgett pleaded guilty to the charge, Nova To Burn was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
