Romeo Lad was slow to begin.
Where's The Rum, Meat Murphy and Airly Spence collided on the first turn. Meat Murphy and Rebel May Road collided on the second turn. Flashy De Goey and Rebel May Road collided on the home turn. Flashy De Goey marred Where's The Rum in the home straight colliding with Where's The Rum and Airly Spence checking Where's The Rum.
Flashy De Goey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Ivan Ognjenovic, the trainer of Flashy De Goey regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Flashy De Goey was charged with marring. Mr. Ognjenovic pleaded not guilty to the charge, Flashy De Goey was found guilty and suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
