An out of competition sample was taken from Blue Cascade on 9/12/2020 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Flash Opal and Star Hawk were quick to begin.
Elswyk Sonia crossed out soon after the start and collided with Blue Cascade, checking Mrs. Missile, Earn The Loot, Blue Cascade and Dale From Sale. Elswyk Sonia galloped on Totally Bella approaching the first turn and crossed out. Elswyk Sonia and Blue Cascade collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds, causing Elswyk Sonia to be turned sideways and Blue Cascade to fall. Earn The Loot and Dale From Sale collided on the first turn. Flash Opal and Star Hawk collided on the first turn.
Elswyk Sonia underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Blue Cascade underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the left shoulder and a tongue laceration. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
