Steward's Report
Crystal Queen, Callum's Capers and Tralee Riot were slow to begin.
Flying Fox and Pearl's Entity collided approaching the first turn. Aztec Blaze and Pearl's Entity collided on the first turn. Crystal Queen checked off Cool Stone on the first turn checking Crystal Queen, Pearl's Entity, Callum's Capers and Tralee Riot. Aztec Blaze visibly eased on the first turn and collided with Cool Stone, checking Cool Stone and Aztec Blaze. Pearl's Entity marred Flying Fox approaching the winning post.
Aztec Blaze underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Darren Irby regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Aztec Blaze was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Irby pleaded guilty to the charge, Aztec Blaze was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pearl's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Lyn Smith, the trainer of Pearl's Entity regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Pearl's Entity was charged with marring. Ms Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Pearl's Entity was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
