Steward's Report
My Father's Son was slow to begin.
Caveman Yap, Una Star and Deed's Delight collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Holiday In Paris checked off Vice Grip and collided with Brady's Shout on the first turn checking Brady's Shout and Holiday In Paris. Holiday In Paris and Deed's Delight collided on the third turn checking Holiday In Paris. My Father's Son and Knicks Bale collided entering the home straight. Deed's Delight turned its head inwards and marred Brady's Shout approaching the winning post. My Father's Son turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Deed's Delight underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left pectoral muscle, the right pectoral muscle and the right quadriceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Philip Clark, the trainer of Deed's Delight regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Deed's Delight was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Clark pleaded guilty to the charge, Deed's Delight was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
My Father's Son underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported, trainer Mr Micheal Chilcott declined to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Chilcott, the trainer of My Father's Son regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) My Father's Son was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, My Father's Son was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
