Mighty Tuscany and Hyena Queen collided soon after the start checking Hyena Queen.  Mt. View Dodger and Go The Doves collided approaching the first turn.  Peregrine Speed visibly eased approaching the first turn and lost ground.  Casanova Man, Mt. View Dodger and Go The Doves collided approaching the home turn checking Mt. View Dodger and Go The Doves.  Casanova Man and Go The Doves collided on the home turn checking Hyena Queen.  Mighty Tuscany turned its head in the home straight checking Mt. View Dodger.  

Mighty Tuscany underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal sprain and calf injuries and a abrasion to the left metacarpal.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr John Brown regarding the greyhounds racing in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mighty Tuscany was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, Mighty Tuscany was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Peregrine Speed underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury.  Mr. Reginald Boyce declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Boyce, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Peregrine Speed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Boyce pleaded guilty to the charge, Peregrine Speed was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2)(a) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
