Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Track Report:

Track Curator Mr B.Groom advised that the track was medium harrowed on Friday 2 October, 2020.

Sloth was slow to begin. Sloth, Pretty Fly, Soda Prince and Spanish Paso collided soon after the start checking Pretty Fly. All Inn Chester and Holding Hope collided on the first turn checking All Inn Chester. Spanish Paso severely checked off Magic Marjen on the first turn. Sloth and All Inn Chester collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Pretty Fly raced wide on the home turn. Sloth and Spanish Paso collided in the home straight.

Spanish Paso underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to representative Mr D.Boots regarding the greyhound Spanish Paso racing manners in the home straight. After observing all available footage, Stewards own observations and Mr Boots submissions, no further action was taken.

Mallee Swan checked off Fireball Frank on the first turn. Husky Freckle - Late scratching at 7.57pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Cruising Ruby, Jaimandy Roy, Twilight Connie and All Inn Abby collided approaching the first turn checking Jaimandy Roy and Twilight Connie. Cruising Ruby checked off Blackpool Bolt on the first turn. Jaimandy Roy and Mohinga Chase collided on the home turn.

Blackpool Storm, Kraken Thunder, Who Told Gawnie, Brian Harold and All Inn Billy collided in the back straight checking Kraken Thunder, Who Told Gawnie and Brian Harold. Blackpool Storm, All Inn Billy, Especial Envy and Red Hot Lady collided approaching the first turn checking Blackpool Storm. Kraken Thunder and Who Told Gawnie collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds causing Who Told Gawnie to brush the running rail as a result. Blackpool Storm and Red Hot Lady collided on the home turn.

Who Told Gawnie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front radius and spike wounds to the left and right hind metatarsals. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Lektra Bear, Kraken Storm and Tat Warby collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Storm. Kraken Storm checked off Tat Warby on the first turn. Harston Flare checked off Especial Empire on the first turn. Lektra Bear checked off Spring Party on the home turn. Harston Flare and Spring Party collided entering the home straight.

No Marjen – Late scratching at 11:27am when trainer Mr D.Jensen reported the greyhound to have a wrist injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stellar Rising checked off Affair Bit on the first turn. Tigerfish Fozz and Custom Roof collided on the first turn causing Custom Roof to falter and lose considerable ground.

Custom Roof underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain and an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Ezra Bale was quick to begin. All Inn Ava checked off Kraken Doll approaching the first turn. All Inn Ava checked off Ducky's Delight on the first turn. Ducky's Delight checked off Kraken Doll on the first turn. Kraken Doll checked off Canya Go Wild on the home turn.

Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Crazy Old Fool with representative Mr J.Formosa and noted his comments. 

Crazy Old Fool checked off Benchester soon after the start. All Inn Christy, Aston Valkyrie, Fast Fever, Oriental Jade and Benchester collided approaching the first turn checking Fast Fever and Oriental Jade. Aston Valkyrie and Benchester collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Oriental Jade galloped on Fast Fever on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Crazy Old Fool and Benchester collided on the home turn.

Crazy Old Fool underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin sorness to the right hind leg and a left carpal sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Oriental Amber was slow to begin. Bush Blossom, Aston Verve and Oriental Amber collided soon after the start checking Aston Verve. Major Winston, Blazin' Ruby, Bush Blossom and Oriental Amber collided approaching the first turn checking Bush Blossom severely checking Blazin' Ruby. Tigga Toy checked off Oriental Amber on the home turn.
