Steward's Report
Mario Bale – Late scratching at 6.03am when Mrs Tammy Kennedy- Harris reported the greyhound to have a toe injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter, Miss Olivia Cartechini did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Black Garnet.
Black Garnet was quick to begin. Big Tango galloped on Finding Gobi approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. My.View Pearl checked off Finding Gobi on the first turn, checking Big Tango. Finding Gobi galloped on Jet Burler approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Finding Gobi turned it's head outwards entering the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Finding Gobi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Miss Paris Toner, respresentative for Finding Gobi, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Finding Gobi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss Toner pleaded guilty to the charge, Finding Gobi must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
