Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

A pre-race sample was taken from Run Fast Spirit. 

Blue Tick Erin, Coco Lilly and Run Fast Spirit collided approaching the first turn.  Mt.View Nancy galloped on Coco Lilly on the first turn, checking both greyhounds and causing Coco Lilly to race wide.  Coco Lilly and Luigi Bale collided entering the home straight.

Mario Bale – Late scratching at 6.03am when Mrs Tammy Kennedy- Harris reported the greyhound to have a toe injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter, Miss Olivia Cartechini did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Black Garnet.  

Black Garnet was quick to begin. Big Tango galloped on Finding Gobi approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. My.View Pearl checked off Finding Gobi on the first turn, checking Big Tango.  Finding Gobi galloped on Jet Burler approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Finding Gobi turned it's head outwards entering the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Finding Gobi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Miss Paris Toner, respresentative for Finding Gobi, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Finding Gobi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Miss Toner pleaded guilty to the charge, Finding Gobi must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Draconic Lad and Retro Reece collided soon after the start.  Raquea's Dream and Tiger's Roar collided approaching the first turn. Storm To Burn and Retro Reece collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Storm To Burn which lost ground as a result. Raquea's Dream and Tiger's Roar collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Raquea's Dream, Tiger's Roar and Dranconic Lad collided approaching the home turn, checking all three greyhounds. Retro Reece raced wide in the home straight.

Aston Naughton – New declared weight of 29.8kg, last raced at 28.7kg.

Super Overdrive crossed in soon after the start, checking Zambora Tara, Where's The Rum, Art Prize and Astro Naughton.  Where's The Rum and Art Prize collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Where's The Rum and Art Prize collided on the first turn severley checking Art Prize.  Astro Naughton raced wide on the first turn.

Art Prize underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left sesamiod and left triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Springvale Misty checked off Lektra Kez approaching the first turn.  Natsu Bale faltered on the first turn, lost ground and subsequently pulled up. Spolly Bear, Lektra Kez and Over Talking collided approaching the winning post.

Natsu Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10. Natsu Bale was found to have a right bicep injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs.R.Gibbons and acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mrs.Gibbons to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Natsu Bale in the event which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event. 

This start of this event was delayed by 3 minutes.  While boxing the greyhounds for this event, the judging system malfunctioned and Stewards directed that all greyhounds be removed from the boxes while the issue could be rectified. As a result, a veterinary examination was performed on Break The Chains, Max Black, Lektra Dude, Chase The Magic, Magic Voyage and Jane Way. All greyhounds were passed fit to start.

Run To You was quick to begin.

Max Black, Jane Way, Chase The Magic and Rebel May Road collided approaching the first turn, checking Rebel May Road.  Max Black and Jane Way collided on the first turn.  ChaseThe Magic raced wide on the first turn. Magic Voyage checked off Run To You on the first turn. Max Black crossed out on the third turn, checking Magic Voyage, Jane Way and Chase The Magic.

Take A Rose was slow to begin.

Run Shifty Run and Dr.Mick collided approaching the first turn, checking Run Shifty Run.  Dr.Mick checked off Gellar Bale on the first turn.  Why Not Gazza and Bubba Jo collided on the first turn.  Dr.Mick raced wide approaching the home turn and in the home straight.  Dr.Mick and Take A Rose collided approaching the winning post.

A post-race sample was taken from Bubba Jo - the winner of the event. 

Another Rupee was quick to begin.  Another Rupee, Eddie, Jebrynah Octave and Doused in Mud collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Another Rupee and checking Doused In Mud. Jebrynah Octave and Steinmark collided on the first turn, severely checking Steinmark which fell as a result, checking They Love Me.

Stewards directed that the lure be eased up (into a finish-on style finish) as soon as the lure reached the finishing line to mitigate any potential danger to the fallen greyhound, Steinmark who reminaed unrestrained in the vicinity of the inside rail in the catching pen area. The Stewards were satisfied that this alternate finish, after the finishing line had no bearing on the outcome of the event and as such, the all clear was given.  

Steinmark underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Another Rupee underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mrs.D.Selleck and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.

Ridgeline – New declared weight of 36.6kg, last raced at 35.4kg.

Grand Giveaway was quick to begin.  Zumi's Swagger was slow to begin.  Koh Lipe and My Dark Rose collided on the first turn, severely checking Koh Lipe.  Ridgeline and Zumi's Swagger collided on the first turn, checking Zumi's Swagger.  My Dark Rose checked off Grand Giveaway approaching the home turn.  Split Pea and Grand Giveaway collided entering the home straight.

Mac's Mayhem was slow to begin.  Let's Roll crossed in on the first turn, checking Aston Rose which raced wide as a result, checking Mac's Mayhem, My Girl Mel and Lady Elegance.  My Girl Mel and Lady Elegance collided entering the home straight.  Aston Rose and Bag of Tricks collided approaching the winning post.

Toyman Tim – New declared weight of 32.4kg, last raced at 30.8kg.

Violation was quick to begin.  Sultan Bale was slow to begin.  Toyman Time, Aladdin Prince and Onya Jakit collided soon after start.  Aladdin Prince checked off Onya Jakit approaching the first turn. Toyman Tim galloped on Onya Jakit on the first turn, severely checking Toyman Tim, Onya Jakit, Fast Talker and Dirty Boston.
