Steward's Report
Canadian Mist and Aston Minerva were quick to begin.
Aston Sylvie and Blackpool Flash collided soon after the start. Blackpool Flash and Quade Bale collided soon after the start. Tinker Luke, Aston Sylvie and Blakpool Flash collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Sylvie, Blackpool Flash and Quade Bale. Tinker Luke and Skibo Rebel collided on the first turn checking Tinker Luke. Aston Minerva visibly eased in the home straight.
Aston Minerva underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Handler Mr. D. Drew declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Drew, the handler of Aston Minerva, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Aston Minerva was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Drew pleaded not guilty to the charge, Aston Minerva was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
