Without Fear and Jenny Kay Rose were slow to begin. Akina Bear and Prince Archer were very slow to begin (3 lengths). Darnum Dodger and Pride Into Power collided soon after the start checking Darnum Dodger. Akina Bear and Prince Archer collided soon after the start checking Prince Archer. Darnum Dodger and Without Fear collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.. Darnum Dodger lost ground approaching the home turn and subsequently tailed off.

Darnum Dodger underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left back muscle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
