Steward's Report
Bolshoi Ballet was slow to begin. Lea Arandt went up with the lids at box was and was very slow to begin (6 lengths). Goldana Bale, Toolleen Town, Elsa Rose, Diamond Socks and Dewana Chic collided soon after the start checking Elsa Rose. Bolshoi Ballet visibly eased approaching approaching the first turn. Goldana Bale, Toolleen Town and Diamond Socks collided on the first turn checking Elsa Rose and Diamond Socks. Lea Arandt and Diamond Socks collided on the first turn.
Bolshoi Ballet underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 9 and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Jai Formosa regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Bolshoi Ballet was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Bolshoi Ballet must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
