Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Ramona – New declared weight of 26.9kgs, last raced at 25.6kgs.
Ramona, Iceni Hunter and Dr. Tobain were quick to begin. Ramona, Gunmetal Magic and Iceni Hunter collided soon after the start. Repentless checked off Misty Arandt soon after the start. Dr. Tobain checked off Iceni Hunter approaching the first turn checking Misty Arandt which in turn severely checked Dr. Tobain and Chasing Opal; both greyhounds raced wide as a result. Ramona and Gunmetal Magic collided approaching the first turn. Repentless checked off Iceni Hunter approaching the first turn. Gunmetal Magic visibly eased on the first turn and checked off Ramona on the home turn causing Ramona to lose balance. Iceni Hunter and Repentless collided approaching the home turn. Ramona and Gunmetal Magic collided on the home turn and entering the home straight. Ramona, Gunmetal Magic and Repentless collided in the home straight. Repentless checked off Gunmetal Magic approaching the winning post.
Dr. Tobain underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Gunmetal Magic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness on the right hindleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Jai Formosa regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gunmetal Magic was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Gunmetal Magic must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
