Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Miss Tickle was quick to begin. Lily Leopard and Galaxy Horse were slow to begin.

Lily Leopard and Galaxy Horse collided soon after the start. Maddingley Park checked off Our Girl Daisy on the first turn. Lily Leopard checked off the heels of Galaxy Horse on the first turn. Grand Giveaway was quick to begin. Pandora's Hope and Carter were slow to begin.

Pandora's Hope checked off the heels of Defendant approaching the first turn. Bad Bailey checked off the heels of Make A Pat and collided with Scott Confusion on the first turn. Grand Giveaway checked off Carter on the first turn. Defendant faltered and lost ground approaching the home turn. Carter and Ginger Meggs collided approaching the home turn. Defendant faded considerably in the home straight.

Defendant underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right pencil muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Green, the trainer of Defendant regarding its performance approaching the home turn and in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Defendant must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. The Stewards also ordered that a Veterinary Certificate (under the provisions of GAR 20 (3) (v)) be produced, prior to the satisfactory trial being undertaken or further nominations being accepted for Defendant.

Act On Impulse - Late scratching at 8.22 am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J. Perkins was fined $100.

Isotope was quick to begin. Big Leigh was slow to begin. Golden Charm was very slow to begin - 5 lengths.

Indominus checked off Darwin O'Connor soon after the start. Sweet Yaala and Travel Easy collided on the first turn. Travel Easy and Indominus raced wide in the home straight.

Close Encounter was quick to begin. Smash Flash was slow to begin.

Cairnlea Abby checked off the heels of Barbados Dream and collided with Smash Flash on the first turn causing Cairnlea Abby and Smash Flash to lose considerable ground. Milly Mac and Last Outlaw collided on the first turn.

Last Outlaw underwent a post-race veterinary examination after the greyhound contacted the inside running rail entering the catching pen. Last Outlaw was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

The photo finish for this race was available and viewed post-race for determining the placings for second and third (with a hard copy being made which is retained by Stewards) however the digital version of the photo finish was inadvertantly deleted thereafter. As such, the photo finish is unavailable for uploading to Fasttrack.    

Darklight was slow to begin.

Xenia Bale checked off Darklight on the first turn. Aston Verve and Darklight collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Free Advice and Darklight collided entering the home straight checking Free Advice. Kurtlee Bale and Aston Verve collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Giddings, the kennel representative of Aston Verve and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.
