Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

My Dad Baz was slow at box rise, raced erratically and fell shortly after the start. Tommy's No Angel and Chebika Oasis collided on the first turn checking Chebika Oasis. Tommy's No Angel and Black Jack Tea collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Tommy's No Angel, Black Jack Tea and Lektra Nat collided in the home straight.

My Dad Baz underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was re-examined following Race 2 and was found to have an elevated temperature, dark coloured gums, poor pupillary light reflex on the left eye, a right carpal sprain and an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeffrey Geall, the representative of My Dad Baz regarding its erratic behaviour shortly after the start and the conditions as described by the On-Track Veterinary Surgeon who examined the greyhound post-race. The On-Track Veterinary Surgeon advised (as above) that My Dad Baz was suffering from conditions that effect the central or peripheral nervous systems and could cause erratic behaviour in a greyhound, amongst other more physical injuries. The Stewards accepted that the condition outlined did cause the erratic behaviour displayed shortly after the start. Acting in accordance with GAR 74, My Dad Baz must perform a Satisfactory Trial under the provisions of GAR 72 and further an external veterinary certificate of fitness be supplied to the satisfaction of the Stewards, (prior to the trial being conducted) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Mitchell trainer of Tommy's No Angel regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. After viewing all available footage Stewards took no action.

Dirty John Dory, My Name Heather and All Inn Jasper were slow to begin. My Rocky and Speedy Lemon collided approaching the first turn. Dirty John Dory, Speedy Lemon and My Name Heather collided approaching the first turn. Speedy Lemon, Princess Sparkle, All Inn Jasper and My Rocky collided on the first turn severely checking My Rocky and All Inn Jasper.

A post-race sample was taken from Pontiac Bandit - the winner of the event.

Sedona was slow to begin. Sedona and Nicko In Paris collided on the first turn checking Nicko In Paris. Nano Nano and All Inn Dungee collided approaching the home turn. Morticia raced wide in the home straight.

Lektra Dude clipped the heels of Argyle Audrey approaching the first turn checking Lektra Dude. Iceni Jinx and I'm Poppy collided approaching the first turn checking I'm Poppy. Argyle Audrey and National Level collided approaching the home turn. Lektra Dude and Argyle Audrey collided entering the home straight. Lektra Dude and Argyle Audrey raced wide in the home straight.

A post-race sample was taken from Choir Magic - the winner of the event.

Ginger Bar was slow to begin. All Inn Ava, Calico Bull and Kraken Storm collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Kraken Storm. Calico Bull and Gigi's Fire collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Spike and Sprite Halo collided on the first turn. Sprite Halo and Ginger Bar collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Ginger Bar marred Sprite Halo in the home straight.

Ginger Bar underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury could be detected.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Morshead, the trainer of Ginger Bar regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Ginger Bar was charged with marring. Mr Morshead pleaded guilty to the charge, Ginger Bar is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bodhi's Bro Kai, Confront and Sonny Daze collided approaching the first turn checking Confront and Sonny Daze. Aston Heidi and Back Burn collided on the first turn checking Aston Heidi. Sonny Daze and Bodhi's Bro Kai collided in the home straight.

Stewards noted the winner of this event " Sticker Sparkles" was not captured in the photo finish. 

Awesome Grit, Cobber Victorem and All Inn Deeds collided approaching the first turn. Rhonda's Delight and Oriental Jade collided on the first turn checking Rhonda's Delight and Awesome Grit. Go Get Boy faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. American Missile raced wide in the home straight. All Inn Deeds, Posterior Chain and Oriental Jade collided in the home straight checking Posterior Chain.

Go Get Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Fly High Billy and Starchie collided on the first turn. Roots Rock Riot and Ducky's Delight collided approaching the home turn. Entranced and Ducky's Delight collided on the home turn.

Harston Flare, Mr. Bob, Dove's Cry and Bring Your Banjo collided approaching the first turn severely checking Bring Your Banjo which fell. Aston Rose and Foreman collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.

Bring Your Banjo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

One To Savour and Camo Rex collided soon after the start checking One To Savour. Emma Banjo and Camo Rex collided entering the home straight.

Callum Ari, Lance Link and Kraken Tex collided approaching the first turn. Tat Warby, Charmed and Kraken Tex collided on the first turn checking  Kraken Tex. Aston Gripen and Callum Ari collided several times in the home straight.

Black Mintie, Zipping Navy and Harley Merrett collided approaching the first turn checking Harley Merrett and Zipping Navy. Zipping Navy and Harley Merret collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.
