Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Montoya was quick to begin.

Repentless and Miss Marley collided on the first turn  checking Repentless. Iceni Viking galloped on Montoya on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Iceni Viking and Sense Of Wonder collided on the home turn. Repentless checked off Iceni Viking in the home straight. Deed Of Shianne and Miss Marley collided in the home straight.

Twilight Psycho and Ramona were slow to begin.

What Feeling was very slow to begin (3L).

Twilight Psycho checked off Little Winnie on the first turn checking Chaba Charlie. Market Charlie and Little Winnie collided several times entering the home straight and in the home straight. Little Winnie turned it's head outwards and visibly eased in the home straight.

Little Winnie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and re-examined following race 4. Little Winnie was found to have soreness in the right shoulder. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. G. Cowcher, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Little Winnie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Cowcher pleaded guilty to the charge, Little Winnie must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

All Inn June, Husky Freckle, Knuckle Buster and Twilight Flame collided on the first turn checking Knuckle Buster and severely checking Husky Freckle. Iceni Riddler and All Inn June collided on the home turn checking All Inn June. Sky Show checked off Knuckle Buster which collided with Create A Scene on the home turn checking all three greyhounds.

Husky Freckle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the tongue and a spike wound to the left fore paw. No stand down period was imposed.

Yuken Talk and Fairytale Ending were slow to begin. Fast Fever, Sweet Potato, and Shifter Magic collidied approaching the first turn checking Sweet Potato. Cristalle Blue and Super Switch collided on the first turn checking Super Switch, Sweet Potato, Shifter Magic and Fairytale Ending.

Digitorum and Deering Danae were slow to begin.

Zanzibar Icon, Firing Fernando and Argyle Bella collided approaching the first turn checking Zanzibar Icon and severely checking Firing Fernando and Argyle Bella causing Argyle Bella to tail off as a result.

Argyle Bella underwent a post-race veterinary examination and re-examined following race 7. Argyle Bella  was found to an injury to the left monkey muscle, minor neck soreness and a mild abrasions to the left hind and right fore paws. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots handler of Deering Danae regarding his late arrival to kennels. Stewards accepted Mr. Boots explanation and took no further action.

Run Maggie Run – Late scratching at 16:28 (12/8/2020) when Ms. D. O'Mara reported the greyhound to be injured (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Bush Bro, Rezzie's Shout and Secret Thoughts collided soon after the start checking Rezzie's Shout and Secret Thoughts. Bush Bro, Rezzie's Choice and Running The Wind collided on the first turn checking Bush Bro, Rezie's Shout, Rezzie's Choice and Running The Wind.

Brian Harold and Lex's Delight collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Lex's Delight raced wide entering the home straight.

Jimmy Goes Bang, He's A Natural and Tin Can Sam collided soon after the start checking He's a Natural. Aston Champagne, Victory Chico and Lektra Kez collided on the first turn checking Aston Chanpagne, Tin Can Sam, Victory Chico and Sylvia's Delight. He's A Natural galloped on Jimmy Goes Bang on the first turn checking both greyhounds. He's A Natural and Victory Chico collided on the home turn checking Victory Chico.

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Awesome Asset with trainer Mr. J. Mangion and noted his comments.

Bilbo, Stride For Pride, Kraken Jonny, Camo Rex and Space Alert collided approaching the first turn checking Bilbo and Camo Rex and severely checking Stride For Pride and Kraken Jonny. Awesome Asset checked off Space Alert on the first turn. Bilbo and Camo Rex collided on the first turn.

Kraken Jonny underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left for paw. No stand down period was imposed.

 Bab's Jakit – Late scratching at 16:21 (12/8/2020) when Ms. Y. Carter reported the greyhound to be injured (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Half Proven and Select Bully collided on the first turn checking Select Bully. Glascoe Sally and Select Bully collided on the home turn checking Select Bully.

Giant Shadow pulled up soon after the start and took no part in the event.

Rippa Regis and Chill Out Isla collided on the first turn checking Rippa Regis. Belmont Rose checked off Harley Merrett on the home turn. Lewis Osti and Southern Edge collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Rippa Regis underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated right fore toe. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. M. Chilcott representative of Giant Shadow declined to have the greyhound vetted following the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Chilcott handler of Giant Shadow regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Giant Shadow was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Giant Shadow is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
