The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Hurricane Miami with Mr. J. Sultana and noted their comments.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Macie.
Dr. Carmel and Have A Summer were slow to begin. Hurricane Miami checked off Dr. Macie approaching the first turn causing Hurricane Miami to brush the running rail. Dr. Macie and Bonnie Goes Bang collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Patience Pays and Tarlee collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Dr. Carmel and Have A Summer collided on the first turn. Hurricane Miami raced wide approaching the winning post.
Hurricane Miami underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
