Steward's Report
The time of this event was amended from 3:13pm to 3:59pm.
Daisy Hill Lad and Brindle Fire collided soon after the start. Lucky Shiraz checked off Brindle Fire on the first turn. Brindle Fire checked off Daisy Hill Lad in the back straight. All Over Elly faltered in the back straight and tailed off as a result. Another Episode turned it's head inwards and marred Daisy Hill Lad on the home turn.
All Over Elly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Another Episode underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right flexor tendon and monkey muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Brown, the trainer of Another Episode regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Another Episode was charged with marring. Mr. Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, Another Episode was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Michael Pell regarding the racing manners of Lucky Shiraz. After hearing evidence from Mr. Pell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Brindle Fire- winner of the event.
