Steward's Report
All persons (GRV and club staff, licensed participants and limited general public) attending the venue today undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks/covers that in turn permitted entry to the venue.
An out of competition sample was taken from Isolating on Tuesday, 16 February 2021.
A pre-race sample was taken from Nathan Ryder.
Basin Betty and Angel Glow were slow to begin.
Collinda Lady and Isolating collided soon after the start. Nathan Ryder and Basin Betty collided approaching the first turn. Blue Chandelier and Collinda Lady collided approaching the first turn. Blue Chandelier, Collinda Lady, Nathan Ryder and Basin Betty collided on the first turn; checking Collinda Lady, Nathan Ryder and Basin Betty. Blue Chandelier checked off Basin Betty on the first turn. Collinda Lady checked off Nathan Ryder entering the back straight. Isolating and Angel Glow collided in the back straight; severely checking Isolating, which pulled up as a result. Collinda Lady marred Nathan Ryder on the home turn; severely checking Nathan Ryder.
Isolating underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg scapula injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Collinda Lady underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg wrist and monkey muscle injuries. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr S Tyler, the handler of Collinda Lady, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Collinda Lacy was charged with marring. Mr Tyler pleaded guilty to the charge, Collinda Lady was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
