A pre-race sample was taken from Low Blow.

Aston Kenno, Low Blow, Aston Oriental and Fontella collided soon after the start checking Low Blow. Fontella, Aston Oriental and Aston Kenno collided on the first turn. Aston Oriental and Fontella collided approaching the home turn checking Fontella which contacted the running rail. Fontella and Aston Kenno collided approaching the home turn. Low Blow, Savannah Lee, Aston Kenno and Fontella collided on the home turn. Savannah Lee raced wide in the home straight.

Fontella underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
