A pre-race sample was taken from Dominus.
Rio Hustler and You Ember were slow to begin. Hurricane Red was checked off Baz The Rocket approaching the first turn checking Baz The Rocket and Rio Hustler. Hurricane Red was checked off Baz The Rocket on the first turn severely checking Hurricane Red which faltered and subsequently pulled up. Dominus was checked off Glamorous Lass on the first turn checking You Ember.
Hurricane Red underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured lumbo-sacral, left back muscle and a laceration on the left hind leg. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
