Romilda Vane underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Trainer, Ian Cockerell declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Cockerell, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Romilda Vane was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge, Romilda Vane was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lanigan to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of On The Bit in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Cool Customer– Late scratching at 9.42AM when trainer,  Mr P.Martinovic  reported the greyhound to have gastroenteritis. (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
