Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Why Not Colby on 24 May 2021.pursuant to GAR 79A.
Yohan Bale was quick to begin. Pretty Much Was slow to begin.
Erupting Avatar crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Pretty Much and Well Built. Yohan Bale checked off Slingshot Title on the first turn. Why Not Colby, Well Built and Erupting Avatar collided on the first turn checking Pretty Much and Senor Senor. Senor Senor, Well Built and Erupting Avatar collided approaching the home turn severely checking Well Built which stumbled as a result. Well Built veered out and marred Erupting Avatar in the home straight.
Well Built underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms M Mallia, the handler of Well Built regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Well Built was charged with marring. Ms M Mallia reserved her plea to the charge, Well Built was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
