Steward's Report
Aston Lavinia was quick to begin.
Vicki's Queen and Highly Explosive collided soon after the start. Qwara Bale and Dr. Rozzie collided soon after the start. Aston Lavinia and Strada collided soon after the start. Vicki's Queen and Mepunga Katie collided on the first turn. Immunity and Dr. Rozzie collided on the first turn. Vicki's Queen and Highly Explosive collided on the first turn. Highly Explosive checked off Immunity on the second turn checking Dr. Rozzie. Aston Lavinia checked off Immunity on the third turn. Dr. Rozzie veered out and marred Vicki's Queen approaching the home turn. Aston Lavinia and Highly Explosive collided approaching the home turn.
Dr. Rozzie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and a spike wound to the right wrist. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke Ms Jennifer Gill, the kennel representative of Dr. Rozzie regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69 (1), Dr. Rozzie was charged with marring. Ms. Gill pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Rozie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race samples were taken from Qwara Bale (1st) and Mepunga Katie (2nd).
