Steward's Report
Jetta's Shout was quick to begin. Upright was slow to begin.
Stan's Hope and Miss Marley collided soon after the start. Stan's Hope, Miss Marley, Una Star and Annie My Mate collided on the first turn. Una Star and Annie My Mate collided entering the back straight. Upright, Stan's Hope and Annie My Mate collided on the second turn and again approaching the home turn checking Stan's Hope. Stan's Hope and Big Little Sis collided approaching the home turn checking Stan's Hope. Miss Marley turned its head inwards towards Jetta's Shout entering the home straight and in the home straight.
Miss Marley underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Bartlett, the representative of Miss Marley regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Miss Marley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Marley was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at ballarat all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Following this event Stewards downgraded the track to slow at 5.30pm.
