Steward's Report
Connor Man was slow to begin. Good Boy Colombo was checked off Connor Man approaching the first turn. Lady Loch crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Lunar Halo, Connor Man, Kamara Bale and Lady Loch. Good Boy Colombo was checked off Kamara Bale on the first turn. Wally Hook turned it’s head out and collided with Key Evidence approaching the winning post.
Wally Hook underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. C. Galea, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Wally Hook was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Galea pleaded not guilty to the charge, Wally Hook was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred behind the starting boxes after the boxing of the greyhounds had occurred. During the inquiry, Mr. Louie Forte was charged under GAR 86 (q) for engaging in conduct that was detrimental or predjudicial to the interests and image of greyhound racing. Mr Forte pleaded guilty to the charge. A fine of $250 was issued.
