Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face-masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting,
Merinda was quick to begin. Nathan Ryder and Merinda collided approaching the first turn. Just Needed Time and Nathan Ryder collided on the first turn checking Nathan Ryder. Scary Too checked off Diamond And Rust on the first turn. Diamond And Rust turned it's head outwards approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Diamond And Rust crossed out entering the home straight and collided with Merinda. Just Needed Time raced wide in the home straight.
Diamond And Rust underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms. Susan Northway regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Diamond And Rust was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Northway pleaded not guilty to the charge. Diamond And Rust was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
