All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Blue Chandelier and Fernando Bella were quick to begin.
Tears I'm Back and Dash Home collided soon after the start. Ready To Launch and Deadly Elegance collided approaching the first turn. Tears I'm Back and Swift Trance collided approaching the first turn, checking Swift Trance. Swift Trance raced wide on the first turn, eased and collided several times with Deadly Elegance. Swift Trance underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr W Donlon declined a re-vet of the greyhound.
Stewards spoke to Mr W Donlon, the trainer of Swift Trance regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Swift Trance was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Donlon reserved his plea to the charge, Swift Trance was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
