Steward's Report
Zing On was slow to begin.
Kutcher's Ruslie, Run And Carry and Eureka Icon collided approaching the first turn checking Run And Carry and Eureka Icon. Nice And Easy faltered approaching the first turn. That's Easy, Run And Carry, Zing On, Nice And Easy and Aston Anita collided on the first turn checking Run And Carry, Zing On, Nice And Easy and Aston Anita. Andy Time and Kutcher's Ruslie collided entering the home straight. Nice And Easy faltered in the home straight. That's Easy visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post.
That's Easy underwent a post-race veterinary examination was re-examined following race 8 and was found to have a right tarsal sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Jason Portelli regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), That's Easy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Portelli pleaded guilty to the charge,That's Easy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Nice And Easy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Kutcher's Ruslie - winner of the event.
