Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Devel Sixteen.
Just Burning was quick to begin.
Mr. Bar Wicked, Kutcher's Ruslie and Akoya collided soon after the start. Devel Sixteen, Coconut Miss and Mr. Bar Wicked collided soon after the start, checking Mr. Bar Wicked. Mr. Bar Wicked checked off Coconut Miss in the front straight. Devel Sixteen checked off Miss Tickle on the second turn. Just Burning checked off Miss Tickle entering the back straight. Mr. Bar Wicked checked off Akoya in the back straight. Miss Tickle checked off Devel Sixteen approaching the third turn. Coconut Miss and Akoya collided on the home turn. Devel Sixteen turned its head outwards and collided with Kutcher's Ruslie approaching the winning post.
Devel Sixteen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right calf injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler, Mr D Chapman regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Devel Sixteen was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge, Devel Sixteen was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr D. Chapman was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 42(2) in that he left course without permission of Stewards.
A post-race sample was taken from Qwara Bale - the winner of the event.
