Steward's Report
All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
Itchy Kaala - Late scratching at 11:32 AM on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to illness. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Jerry Buzzard crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Blazin' Cool. Meehan Doozie and Boes Bambino collided approaching the 250m mark checking Blazin' Cool. Blazin' Cool and Meehan Doozie collided at the 200m mark. Blazin' Cool and Raw Attitude collided at the 100m mark and again approaching the 50m mark. Blazin' Cool, Raw Attitude and Meehan Doozie collided approaching the winning post.
Mr Kevin Tirchett failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Jerry Buzzard for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46 (2).
Boes Bambino underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have superficial spike wounds to the left front and right hind toes. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Victor Gay regarding the racing manners of Boes Bambino approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Gay, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
