Steward's Report

Route Sixty Six was slow to begin.

Zipping Hamish and Smart As Jack collided soon after the start.  Smart As Jack, Do Good Davlin and Count Me In collided approaching the first turn.  Smart As Jack and Shy But Savage collided approaching the first turn.  Shy But Savage and Do Good Davlin collided on the first turn.  Do Good Davlin and Zipping Hamish collided approaching the second turn checking Zipping Hamish.  Do Good Davlin, Smart As Jack and Shy But Savage collided entering the home straight.  Smart As Jack and Shy But Savage collided in the home straight.  Smart As Jack, Shy But Savage and Zipping Caviar collided approaching the winning post.  

Shy But Savage underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Mathew Tabb regarding the racing manners in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Tabb, viewing the inconclusive footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued.

A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Hamish - winner of the event.
