Steward's Report
All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 28.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Moriah Bale and Izuku Bale were quick to begin.
Izuku Bale and Palesa Bale collided soon after the start, checking Palesa Bale. Zivion Bale and Negasi Bale collided soon after the start, checking Negasi Bale. Tybalt Bale, Ranako Bale and Zivion Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Ranako Bale. Tybalt Bale checked off Izuku Bale on the first turn, checking Zivion Bale and Yalena Bale. Palesa Bale checked off Yalena Bale on the home turn and raced wide as a result. Yalena Bale checked off Ranako Bale in the home straight. Tybalt Bale and Moriah Bale collided approaching the winning post.
